Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced, self-driven and results oriented individuals to fill the position of Branch Operations Officer. The successful candidate will assist the Branch Manager in deposit mobilization through customer acquisition, customer relationship management, opening customer accounts and money market investments.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new business through various initiatives in liaison with the Branch Manager.
  • Present products and services to clients assess their needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Attend to enquiries pass complex ones along and follow up until resolved.
  • Handle complaints provide solutions or alternatives and follow up.
  • Manage SME and corporate portfolio and recruit POS merchants.
  • Build relationships through open and interactive communication.
  • Facilitate KYC compilation for deposits and loans.
  • Check forms for completeness as per operations manual.
  • Prepare FCB and XDS reports and forward account opening applications for approval.
  • Send applications to back office or capture data when required.
  • Receive and capture indemnities POAs and Letters of Administration.
  • Report suspicious transactions in line with AML policy.
  • Participate in achieving good audit results.
  • Identify training needs and courses for effective work.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Finance Accounting Business or any Commercial field.
  • Full IOBZ Diploma in Banking or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • 5 O Levels including Mathematics or Accounts and English.
  • At least 5 years relevant working experience in a banking or microfinance.institution with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Familiarity with banking back office operations telling and micro lending.
