Job Description

The National Blood Service Zimbabwe is inviting applications for the position of Laboratory Wash-Up Attendant on a five-year fixed term contract. The role involves maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and proper waste handling within the laboratory environment while supporting operational efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities

Cost effective upkeeping of plants and flowers.
Collecting laboratory consumables from stores.
Compiling periodic (daily, weekly and monthly or as needed) wash-up reports for decision making.
Sanitising the NBSZ laboratory.
Collaborating with external waste disposal service providers.
Collecting linen for laundry from laboratory and clinic.
Sorting waste according to type in line with safety and health recommendations.
Cleaning and maintaining NBSZ laboratory equipment and utensils in line with health and safety regulations.
Disposing waste from laboratory interiors to exterior designated waste disposal sites.

Qualifications & Experience

A minimum of five ordinary level passes including English Language.
A hard worker who requires minimal supervision.
An honest and reliable person.

Additional Information

Reporting to the Medical Laboratory Technician.
Contract period: Five-year fixed term contract.
