Job Description
Midlands State University Enterprise Division invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Machine Operators (x20). Reporting to the Production Supervisor, successful candidates will be responsible for operating machinery in the footwear production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards. NB: This is a fixed term contract.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Tending specific machines for lasting, cutting, closing, and finishing footwear products.
- Performing routine maintenance on the machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Examining finished products for defects and variations, and reporting faults in machines.
- Working with other team members, including supervisors and engineers, to ensure the smooth running of the production process.
- Adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensuring punctual completion of tasks to meet critical path deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the Footwear Industry.
- Relevant experience in the leather /canvas industry would be an added advantage.
- Ability to work with speed.
