Job Description

The Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and continuous operation of manufacturing processes in the Chemical Manufacturing Unit and the Food and Beverages Unit.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Production Manager- Chemical Unit, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for:
  • Operating blow moulding machine and other plant equipment.
  • Monitoring and controlling plant equipment and systems to maintain optimal production.
  • Performing routine inspections and maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting issues and responding to emergencies to minimize downtime.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Recording data and reporting on operational performance.
  • Collaborating with teams to improve processes and productivity.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor/ Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A National Certificate / Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, Process Engineering or any other related field.
  • At least one year of post-qualifying working experience as a plant operator in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of process control systems and equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical manuals, schematics, and standard operating procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
