Job Description

Mutapa Gold Resources is seeking an experienced Underground Manager to oversee underground mining operations ensuring safety compliance productivity and sustainable performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ensure safety health environmental quality and social issues are managed in underground operations.
Manage human resources within the mining department and ensure proper staffing.
Develop staff and manage performance in the underground section.
Ensure compliance with mining laws including SI109 of 1990 and SI72 of 1989.
Monitor and improve mining processes to enhance productivity.
Ensure production targets are achieved cost effectively and sustainably.
Prepare daily weekly and monthly performance reports.
Collaborate with engineers on mine design planning and equipment maintenance.
Develop and manage annual budgets in line with operational goals.
Manage waste rock disposal and ensure safe surface operations.

Skills/Tags

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Mining Engineering.
Full Blasting Licence.
Postgraduate qualification or professional membership such as SAIMM is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years underground mining experience in a similar role.
Trackless mining experience is an added advantage.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
