Job Description

Lemon Tree Technology is a forward-thinking microfinance institution dedicated to expanding financial inclusion through innovative technology. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Officer to join our finance team. As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver monthly management reports within set deadlines, ensuring compliance with IFRS.
  • Maintain and manage all financial records, including logs, registers, spreadsheets, and the accounting system.
  • Oversee financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and prepare reliable financial reports supported by thorough analysis.
  • Supervise the preparation and processing of monthly payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective financial processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and provide strategic advice to management on liquidity and financial planning (short & long-term).
  • Conduct financial analysis and undertake special assignments as required by management.
  • Enforce strong internal controls and operational procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • At least four years relevant work experience in an accounting department with knowledge of financial principles and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of Financial Accounting Statements, Reporting, IFRS, Processes and Procedures.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end / year-end close process, Statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and integrity in financial practice.
  • Adaptable to the fast-paced decision-making culture of microfinance institutions.
